Nestling in the heart of the Massif des Maures, a chain of mountains running north of St Tropez, Grimaud is a beautiful historic village bustling with shops and excellent restaurants as well as a medieval castle and the 11th century Chapel de St Roch.
The village is a riot of color with flowers everywhere and leafy squares where it’s recommended you partake of a glass of rose wine or a pastis with the locals, or simply sit in one of Grimaud’s many cafes, sipping an expresso whilst taking in the sights and sounds so evocative of Provence. Amazingly, this quintessentially Provence village is just a short drive (3km) to the crazy beach scene of St Tropez as well as to the pretty boating village of Port Grimaud with its pastel-painted houses and waterways.
There are lots to see and do around Grimaud: wonderful walks, mountain biking, tennis and excellent golf in the nearby 18-hole Beauvallon golf course.
